Princess Diana: A Tribute Exhibit

If you are a Princess Diana or British royalty fan, Princess Diana: A Tribute Exhibit is for you.

I'm not a huge fan of Princess Diana, but it's hard to not know anything about her because she was so present in the media, even after her death.

I visited the exhibit because I was really interested in her personal style and her fashion choices, but I found the exhibit to be very interesting and learned a lot about her and the British monarchy.

Admission is based on time of arrive; you need to select your arrival time when purchasing tickets. I bought VIP tickets which allowed me anytime access on the day of the purchased ticket. It also includes the audio tour (which can be purchased separately with general admission) and a gift (a Princess Diana poster).

The exhibit provides a journey of Diana's life, from birth to her death, and goes in-depth about her struggles with the monarchy, her marriage and her children. It also provided background on Charles, the royal family, William and Catherine as well as Harry and Meghan.

Here are some of the pictures I took. As mentioned, I was interested in her personal style, so most of the pictures are clothing replicas.

As I went through the exhibit, of course we had to come to Diana's tragic death. The exhibit described the circumstances of her death as well as the funeral and the country's reaction. The above description of the above display described how mourners put flowers outside the Buckingham Palace gates. So much flowers that that you could smell the flowers from far away. A floral scent permeated this section of the exhibit.

The above photos are the very few I took that are not fashion related. It's not an indication of the exhibit -- I found the information fascinating. All photos below are fashion. :-)

I forget where she wore the above dress to, but Diana was criticized for her choice of wearing black.

Diana's wedding dress boasted a 25-foot train. At the exhibit, the train was under glass behind the dress and you could walk around the dress and therefore walk over her train. It wasn't pulled out for the full length though.

The black dress in the back is dubbed "the Revenge Dress." She wore this dress to an event on the same night when Charles admitted his affair is Camilla on British national television.

The blue dress on the right was one of the first formal dress she wore. Those early dresses were very "princess-y" and you can see how her style evolved to be more sophisticated.

After her divorce from Charles, at William's suggestion, Diana put 73 of her dresses up for auction at Christie's in New York. The auction raised $3.2 million for various charities. The above and below are doll-sized replicas of the dresses she put up for action.

Above: A dress worn by Catherine.

Above: This is the dress Kate wore during a fashion show in university where William whispered to a friend, "Catherine is hot."

Another Catherine dress.

Not sure how long this exhibit will run, but more info can be found here. The exhibit was located at the Crystals Shopping Center next to Aria.

Thank you for reading! Don't forget to check out my other posts from this trip!
