Vegas Food Diary December 2023

There's so many good places to eat in Vegas, and it's hard to try new places (for me) because you keep wanting to go back to the places you enjoyed the last time. We did try a couple of new places. Here's what we ate:

Saginaw Deli at Circa

Pork chops. This was delicious. The Brussels spouts were so good as well as the chutney.

The gumbo had a bite to it. It was good.

Shake Shack

Chicken Shack and Smoke Shack

Gordon Ramsey Steak at Paris

You walk through the chunnel, transporting you from Paris into London. Kinda cheesy, but fun concept.

Salmon -- very good, especially the skin.

I guess this is a chandelier? It was hanging above the main dining room.

Proper Eats Food Hall at Aria

We enjoyed Proper Eats on our last visit and we returned and ate the exact same thing. Chicken sandwich from Seoul Bird.

Smash burger from Lola's Burgers. So good.

On our last trip, they were giving out samples of their iced mocha with oat milk. I was hooked. Good stuff.

Pop-Up Pizza

A quick bite from Pop-Up Pizza. There are very rare "cheap eats" in Vegas now. A slice of pizza can go for $10 on the Strip! Even the prices on Fremont Street are increasing. Pop-Up Pizza was pretty reasonable. I think this one was about $6.

Merry Vegas Christmas 2023

Happy Holidays! It really is the best time of the year in Vegas. I enjoy visiting during the holidays because of the weather and all the festive decorations. Temperatures were mostly in the low to mid 50s and I enjoyed every minute of the crisp cool air. In addition, we arrived during the National Rodeo Finals so there where cowboy hats and cowboy boots everywhere. Our Uber driver told us that those attending the events like to stay, drink and hang out in Downtown and he wasn't wrong!

We didn't do too much on this trip -- we ate, we gambled and we did some sightseeing. It was pretty mellow, relaxing trip. Here are some Christmas pics I snapped while there. Be sure to check out my other posts from this trips. Links below!

Random Vegas Pictures Summer 2023

Here's some miscellaneous pictures from our trip . . .

I thought this was a funny picture. I guess they had to custom make the gates to accommodate the sign.

The Carousel Bar at the Plaza wasn't open when we visited this trip. But it was pretty much done. Pink Box Donuts was not open yet.

I played this slot machine. The chick would get bigger and bigger each time, but it never "popped", allowing me to play the bonus rounds. It got even bigger, if you can image it!

Vegas Food Diary Summer 2023

Since we spent three days on the Strip, we ate a lot on the Strip! And it was good! After leaving the Strip, we had some good eats Downtown as well! Here's what we ate:

Proper Eats Food Hall
Located at Aria Resort and Casino, Proper Eats Food Hall replaced the property's buffet. It's a great concept with eight eateries to choose from. What made it great for me was it's ordering process. You can order from all eateries your phone by scanning a QR code or via a kiosk (but why would you do that?) and pay for all your orders at one time. When your orders are ready, you'll get text messages from each eatery. Brilliant! No more waiting in line!

Korean fried chicken sandwich from Seoul Bird. Also excellent!

We headed back to Proper Eats on another day to eat hand rolls and sushi at Temaki Bar. I ordered a three hand roll set for $26 that consisted of a salmon, a yellowtail and a spicy tuna hand roll. They serve you each roll one at a time. Once you finish the first, they'll make the next. I ended it with salmon sushi.

Eataly Las Vegas

Located at The Park MGM, Eataly is an upscale Italian food hall that offers more than a dozen eateries and a marketplace to shop for Italian foods. It was so hard to choose what to eat! The food was good (especially the dessert), bit a bit pricey for the amount of food you get.

Mon Ami Gabi

This place gets a lot of love. Situated at Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, you can get a table out on the balcony/lanai, fronting Las Vegas Boulevard with a direct view of the Bellagio Fountains and tons of people watching. By the way, "mon ami Gabi" means "my friend Gabi" in French (I googled) and we forgot to order a cappuccino. I guess that means we'll need to go back!

8 East

8 East bills itself as creative Pan-Asian Cuisine. Located on Fremont Street in Circa Resort & Casino, it offers good food in a hip atmosphere.

Fried rice.

This is the first time I've eaten chicken skin as a stand-alone dish. Surprisingly, I didn't care for it!

Huey Magoo's Chicken Tenders

Fremont Hotel & Casino is one of the many hotels that shuttered their buffets and replaced it with a food hall concept. The Fremont Food Hall includes six eateries, and during this trip, we tried Huey Magoo's Chicken Tenders.

This was a nice salad. We actually should have gotten the chicken unbreaded since we also ordered tenders with fries.

This is similar to Raising Cain's and all the other places that specialize in chicken tenders.

Dirt Dog

There's a location at the Grand Bazaar Shops at the Horseshoe, but we ate at the one on Fremont Street. I ate here on a previous trip, and I had to go back on this trip.

Garlic fries. We didn't order it this trip, but on our last trip, I also had the Dirty Esquite, which is basically Mexican corn. That was also really good!

This is just all the new places we ate. Not posted are meals at Triple 7 Brewery, Market Street Cafe, Evel Pie and Popup Pizza.
